Will paying off my delinquent credit cards help me or will my credit stay the same?

credit help
Superstar!!!!… to be asked:

I applied for 3 credit cards at about the same time 2 years ago. They all got maxed out, and I never paid any of them after a while, and they got sent to collections. I paid off one, but it didn’t seem to help me any in terms of the score. Will paying off the others help? I need to raise my score, but if paying them off won’t help me I’d rather wait until I had a good paying job to settle them. I am on the phone with one of the credit people now as I type, but I need assistance on what to do ASAP!!! Please help!!!

I love my mother but I know if I cosigned or put an apartment under my name she could ruin my credit and I cant take that risk. She has banks/credit cards garnishing her wages and has no money to claim for bankrepcey. I want to help her without having my name dragged into it.
She needs me to co-sign because she is also a felon… In oregon you cannot rent if you are one.

How high can your credit score go up after being very low?

credit score
Autumn Interlude asked:

My credit score is around 500. I’m 21 years old and I have made some pretty poor decisions regarding my financial obligations. (PLEASE, do not post any negative information or comments telling me to get back on track and how important good credit is. I KNOW THIS and since March of this year, I have gotten back on track.) How much can my score go up after I continue paying my bills on time and get some bills out of collections? Thanks.

Can I bring legal action to an attorney that promised to help me with credit repair, and has bounced?

credit help
Sage asked:

I paid $300 to an attorney that works with a real estate firm specializing in credit repair, by disputing and of such nature. He hasn’t done anything, he is now unable to be reached? Took my money and left but still around. Can I bring legal action to him? (His company states that he’s doing it on his own). I need a good attorney to help me out, what kind of attorney could help me in this case? Please help me.

If you have lower credit scores, where can you turn for help with refinancing?

credit help
curious in alabama asked:

Let’s say you are approved to borrow 70% of your home’s value for debt consolidation. The problem here is that your debt load requires you to borrow more than the value of your home. Where do you turn when you cannot get a co-signer with a credit score high enough to help you get consolidated?

Who do I go to to help me boost credit score?

credit help
I see you Lynn H-G asked:

We are looking to sell then buy a home in the next year. We would like to get our score up as much as possible as we are hovering around 620. We will be moving for a new job so we want to get the score up as much as possible to offset that negative. So, who would we meet with to help us make a plan to get our score higher? A mortgage broker? Directly with a mortgage lender? Credit counselor? I was told by our last mortgage lender that we fall in the subprime market so getting a loan is next to impossible right now. We are very worried but we have to move and we really do not want to rent or anything- we have to get another house. Any help is appreciated.
